An executive meeting of the CBRMPTA took place on Tuesday August 30, 2011 at Saint Margaret’s Hall. In attendance: Francis Gillis – Joe Gillis – Jerry Gillis – Danny Gillis, Allan Farrell. Calling of Meeting to Order Francis Gillis called the meeting to order at 2:05p.m. Agenda: Brainstorm the purposed CBRM Boundaries. Upon reviewing the data on the two proposals (Scenario One and Two) the executive concluded that neither one was not satisfactory. It was also noted that in Scenario One it exceeds the population base set out by the NSURB. The following actions were as follows: Francis to submit application for presentation no later than September 02/11. Francis to commutate to Alfie MacLeod (MLA Cape Breton West) about attending a meeting September 06/11 at the hall to offer any advice. Allan to notify Councilor Kim Desveaux in regards to attending a meeting on September 06/11 in the hall to discuss the two boundaries that was presented to the Mayor and Council. She gladly stated that she could be available for 11:00am. I asked her who put forth the two scenarios; her response was that it was CBRM staff that was directed by the Mayor and Council to prepare two options. Kim also stated that the briefing material was delivered to her home Friday night for debate and voting for the following Tuesday. Next meeting Tuesday September 06/ 11 at 11: a.m. in the hall.
